Hello once again! Here I have another car commercial from the past, in French, the 1990 Plymouth Laser, featuring French-Canadian singer, Celine Dion.
Now a little bit about the history and specifications, the Plymouth Laser was a rebadged variant of the Mitsubishi Eclipse, and the Eagle Talon, derived from the Chrysler Corporation. The base 1990 Plymouth Laser had a 1.8 Liter, Inline 4 cylinder engine, that produced 92 Horsepower at 5000 RPM. Fuel mileage for the base Laser was good at 21 MPG city, 29 MPG Highway. The top of the line RS trim came with a 2.0 Liter, Inline 4 cylinder, turbocharged engine that produced a whopping 195 Horsepower. This vehicle was certainly a stylish, sporty car for its time.
Base price for the 1990 Laser came in at $10,885, while the RS Turbo with a supercharged engine came in at $13,905. You could say it was a modestly priced car at the time when both prices are adjusted for inflation in today's money.
