Hello Everyone! Welcome to yet another car commercial of the past, and here today we have the 1988 Isuzu Impulse Turbo. In this cheesy commercial, Isuzu's mascot at the time, Joe Isuzu proves to us as the viewers that the new Impulse Turbo is "faster" than a speeding bullet. Is it really?
Now the 1988 Isuzu Impulse came with a 2.0 Liter, 4 Cylinder Engine Double Overhead Camshaft Engine, rated at 140 Horsepower coupled to either a 5 speed manual, or a 4 speed automatic transmission in a Rear Wheel Drive layout. Top speed was 130 miles per hour (209 Km/h) and 0 to 60 time took only 8.7 seconds.
Certainly a neat car for its time, with handling from Lotus on all Isuzu Impulse models. A very peppy car with great handling, for an affordable price in the sport compact segment of the market, back in 1988. The original MSRP of this vehicle was $15,529.
