Yankee Mike Plans RC Modeler Magazine
In this video I will discuss the Yankee Mike plans and how I got them published in RC Modeler magazine. The Yankee Mike was a .25 engine powered sport flying modeled after the Buhl Pup full scale airplane.
RC Modeler was the premier radio control modeling magazine from the mid-1960s until the late 1990s. This was the era before the internet and widespread video use, as technical magazines like RC Modeler were a primary source of information to the radio control pilot.
The Yankee Mike plans were drawn by hand as CAD plans programs did not really exist in 1994. RC Modeler traced over my drawings to make a professional full size plan than modelers could purchase to construct their own aircraft.
Plans are a great way to build a range of model aircraft. Plans are suited for trainer as well as acrobatic aircraft. There are literally thousands of quality RC plane plans available.
