Remote ID 10 Questions & Answers
In this video I will go over 10 questions and answers regarding remote identification (ID), the new FAA policy for requiring Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), both drones and RC model airplanes to broadcast their location, speed, altitude and take off location.
The video was filmed in April 2023. Remote ID will become effective on Sept 16, 2023. Until then we can fly our RC models and drones as we have always done. After that we will need to comply with remote ID rules.
There are three ways to meet the remote ID requirement: Having the system installed by the manufacturer, using a remote ID module or flying in an FAA Recognized Identification Area.
