FAA FRIA Map

Join me in this video as I go over the FAA's new method that shows the FAA Recognized Identification Areas (FRIAs) on an interactive map called the UAS Data Delivery System.

FRIAs are part of the new Remote ID regulation. Inside a FRIA, which is requested by a Community Based Organization such as the Academy of Model Aeronautics, RC model airplane and drone pilots can fly without any remote ID equipment required at all. By the use of FRIA, RC pilots that have access to an AMA flying field do not have to take any compliance action regarding remote ID when flying at a club field.

Please note that the remote ID regulation starts on Sept 16, 2023. Until this date, no RC pilot needs to comply with remote ID requirements.
