Remote ID Spektrum SkyID Module

This video was filmed on Aug 29, 2023. Remote ID starts very soon, on Sept 16, 2023. In this video I will describe the first true "plu and play" remote ID module that will make you in compliance with the new FAA remote ID regulation, the Spektrum SkyID module.

All RC models flying after Sept 16, 2023 will need to have a remote ID system installed. The only exception on remote ID is for civilian recreational flyers who fly in a FRIA (FAA Recognized Identification Area), usually at an AMA club or an approved educational institution. Everyone else needs remote ID.

Remote ID can either be standard (installed in the factory, with all drones being sold after Dec 22, 2022) or you can add a remote ID module like the Spektrum SkyID.

The SkyID is small (about 1.2 inches long) and lightweight (one half ounce). All the unit needs is power from the receiver or a battery. Turn it on, get a GPS signal lock and go fly.

Recreational flyers need on remote ID module that they can swap between models.
