Uploading this just about two years late. Chris (@fumikiri0680) and I headed out to Canfield in Mahoning County to hear this Finback Vortex located on a wooden tower in the middle of the fairgrounds. Based on some articles from the Youngstown Vindicator that we found, it is believed this siren replaced an older siren also located on this tower, but what kind it was is uncertain. Despite the wind, the siren was still quite loud. It was great to be able to see one of the remaining Finbacks in the county running 465 Hz on its original D-864 controller, as many of the Finbacks in the county have had their rotator mechanisms updated and the fins removed. Enjoy!
Mahoning County tests their tornado sirens every Saturday at noon, weather-permitting.
