AKheon | Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate - war-machine break out @AKheon | Uploaded April 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 day ago.
A subtle mechanics loophole that lets you do attacks while riding a war machine, within certain limitations.
Note: the first two clips in the video have a pretty low quality. This is the first time I connected the ol' Elgato Game Capture to my new setup, and the settings were probably set to something worse than before... Sorry about that.
To do this loophole, buffer an attack during the recovery frames of a block, then quickly get on a war machine. Your character becomes invisible as you ride the war machine, but you'll still hear the audio of the attack playing in the background. During this time, you can buffer more attacks, use specials or musou or even TTA. This causes a variety of graphical oddities, but everything still works surprisingly normally otherwise.
While in this state, you cannot switch characters or summon your horse. Also, the break-out ends when your character becomes neutral again, i.e. you stop doing attacks. Being airborne neutral also ends the break-out, which makes it tough doing most air attacks in this state.
So far, there's no real use to this glitch, other than it looks pretty cool.
Curiously, it seems this small loophole has been fixed on the Definitive Edition on PC. No war-machine break-out on that port, it seems.
This same trick works in the original Dynasty Warriors 7 too, although the break-out has to be done with a correctly timed switch attack.
