There is nothing more annoying than having to peel off your protective grip every single time you want to jump from handheld mode to the big screen.
Today, we are looking at a potential solution from StartRC Gaming. They just sent over their new Dockable Protective Grip Case for the Nintendo Switch 2. This isn't just a simple shell—it promises a comfortable ergonomic grip, integrated storage for five game cartridges, a built-in kickstand, and most importantly, the ability to drop it right into the official dock without removing the case.

The StartRC case is designed with a "snap-and-go" philosophy. The instructions are straightforward:
Installation: Align the bottom of your Switch 2 console with the slots in the protective shell and press gently until it snaps into place.
Joy-Con Covers: The foldable handle covers line up with the Joy-Cons; you simply push upwards gently to secure them.
Tabletop Mode: A unique feature of this case is the foldable back. If you want to slide your Joy-Cons off for tabletop play, you just push the handle covers backward first, and they clear the rails perfectly.

One of the coolest aspects of this case is the modularity of the back panel.
Game Storage: The rear compartment features slots for five physical game cartridges. For those of us who prefer physical media over digital-only "downloadonies," having your favorite titles physically attached to the console is a huge plus.
The Kickstand: The cartridge flap actually doubles as a sturdy kickstand for tabletop mode.

After spending some time with the grip in hand, here is the "RoXolid" truth:
1. Ergonomics & Grip Size
The case features a larger grip that certainly improves on the flat back of the naked Switch 2. However, if you have larger hands, you might find the grips a bit on the small side. While I generally don't like "thick" grips that make the console feel like a brick, I actually wish these were just a hair larger for better palm support. If you have smaller or medium-sized hands, this will likely be a perfect fit for you.
2. The Docking Test
This is the make-or-break feature. To get the system into the official Nintendo Switch 2 dock, you do have to flip up the cartridge holder/kickstand flap. Once that is flipped out of the way, the console slides into the dock and makes a secure connection. It is indeed a truly dockable solution, which is a massive win for convenience!
