Skara Brae is a well-preserved Neolithic village on Orkney in Scotland where prehistoric farmers lived in insulated houses that mostly had similar layouts. These villagers are known as Grooved Ware people because of their pottery that seems to have evolved on Orkney rather than having been imported. It then spread throughout Britain and Ireland.
