Easter Island is famous for its moai statues but there are other impressive artefacts from that remote island location. Many wooden tablets have been found there over the years which are etched with a mysterious script, now referred to as Rongorongo. The script has never been fully deciphered. Experts think it was a sort of proto-writing and represented the original Rapa Nui language.
