In 2020 archaeologists discovered a megalithic tomb at Piedras Blancas close to the three famous Antequera sites in southern Spain and have now published a full report of their discovery. The excavation of this tomb found skeletal remains and other interesting artefacts including a 'solar compass' that it appears was used for archaeoastronomical alignments. In use for around two thousand years, the tomb also provides evidence for how natural formations held significance in the worldview of the local Neolithic community.
