In this week's archeological news my headline story is about the Etruscan bronzes discovered in an ancient baths complex in Tuscany! These remarkably well-preserved statues are a beautiful insight into the life of the Etruscans who would have visited the spa for healing and to make votive offerings.
I also discuss the monumental piece of engineering that is a tunnel discovered underneath the temple at Taposiris Magna in Egypt, an interesting observation regarding a Caananite head-lice comb, the excavation of a stunning gold Bronze Age belt from the Czech Republic and a new genetic study into Upper Mesopotamia during the Pre-Pottery Neolithic.
