.. It's great to experiment at home with new & different techniques but in this environment everything is controlled to give you every advantage to make it work. The real test though is to take what you've learnt out into the field & try & recreate it with what you can find.

...So armed with my titanium spork I set off up the mountain & that's what I did. If you can find suitable flash tinder this is actually a relatively easy technique & even if you can't these amazingly hot little sparks will ignite any charr or certain fungus that will produce a slow burning ember that can then be blown to flame.
