...Whilst driving to a friend's back in England I noticed some tall yellow flowers in the corner of a meadow that suspected were evening primrose (Oenothera biennis) so pulled over to get a closer look.
.
...I haven't come across these before so I wasn't 100% sure but I took a couple of stems & when I got home I looked them up & sure enough my suspicions were correct.
.
...After a couple of days drying on the windowsill I took the thickest stem to try & after quite a few passes on a clematis hearth I managed to get an ember. I had some wasps nest I wanted to try as a tinder bundle but it didn't quite get there so I had to resort to a piece of cardboard.
