...Wanted to keep the fire making theme with a #firestonependant going so armed only with my #firestone & a @wazoosurvivalgear bandana I set off out to see if I could get a bow drill fire together.

...I won't lie this was far from easy. Challenge after challenge kept arising but perseverance is the key. You can't really rush using only a small stone so you have to work at the pace it sets & resign yourself to the fact that it's going to take some time.

...One tip I can offer when making a primitive set like this is try & select a smaller diameter piece of wood for the spindle to cut down on the work load on the stone & if you have access to rough stones use them to grind a point rather than whittle away with your stone because, trust me, it takes forever.

...Anyway eventually I managed to get it together & that's my #fireitupfriday with a #firestonependant for this week guys.
