In this Subnautica 2 video, I test how well different vehicles and Tadpole submarine chassis can avoid the Collector Leviathan, including the default Tadpole, different Tadpole chassis setups, the Trident Submarine, and unreleased Sea Frog chassis content.
The main highlight is the Sea Frog chassis, an unreleased Tadpole chassis that can actually outrun the Collector Leviathan in this test. Since the Sea Frog is unfinished content, this should not be treated as final gameplay, but it gives us a very interesting look at how future Subnautica 2 vehicle options may handle dangerous areas, Leviathan patrols, and high-risk travel routes.
I also test the default Tadpole and other Tadpole setups to see how safely they can get around the Collector Leviathan. The Collector is one of the biggest threats in the current Subnautica 2 Early Access map, so figuring out safe routes, timing, and upgrades can make a huge difference if you are trying to reach areas near the alien observatory without getting destroyed.
The best routes I found for avoiding the Collector Leviathan are along the far north side of the trench, the far south side of the trench, or by driving directly above the Collector along the surface of the water until you can see the top of the alien observatory. These routes seem to work best if you wait for the Collector Leviathan to patrol back in the opposite direction before making your move.
I also test the Trident Submarine against the Collector Leviathan to see how it handles compared to the smaller Tadpole vehicles. Since the Trident is also unfinished unreleased content, this is more of a hidden content showcase and vehicle behavior test than a normal progression guide.
One of the most useful discoveries is that the Cavitation Muffler upgrade for the Tadpole seems to help a lot with avoiding detection. If you are trying to sneak past the Collector Leviathan without being noticed, the Cavitation Muffler may be one of the best upgrades to use.
