The Collector Leviathan in Subnautica 2 is terrifying, but not just because it is a giant squid-like leviathan that can grab your Tadpole. The real horror is what this creature normally eats.

The Collector Leviathan is not scary because it sees the player as a worthy challenge. It is scary because the player is barely even a meal compared to the heavily armored creatures it normally tears apart.
Around the Collector Leviathanās swim area, you can find the remains of dead Great Jaws, the giant clam-like creatures found in Subnautica 2. These are not soft, helpless animals. Great Jaws have extremely tough shells, and even their smaller baby forms are built like armored traps. But in the Collector Leviathanās territory, you can find them cracked open, their shells broken, and their insides eaten.
