Here is where to find and capture Yakumo in Palworld 1.0.
Yakumo can be found throughout the pink cherry blossom forests of Sakurajima Island. One of the most reliable locations is near the Moonflower Tower Entrance fast-travel point at approximately:
**-818, 256**
You can also approach the area from southeast of the Secluded Cemetery teleport. Wild Yakumo in this region are generally around Levels 53 to 56 and may appear alone or in small groups.
Because of their level, I recommend bringing Ultimate Spheres or something stronger, along with a Ring of Mercy, good armor, and a controlled combat Pal. Ultimate Spheres unlock at Technology Level 51 and are well suited for targets in this general level range.

Yakumo’s Partner Skill is called **Birds of a Feather**.
After crafting the Yakumo Saddle, Yakumo can be ridden. More importantly, while Yakumo is deployed with you, Pals you capture have an increased chance of receiving eligible passive skills that match Yakumo’s own passives.
The chance increases as Yakumo is condensed:
• Partner Skill Level 1: 15%
• Partner Skill Level 2: 18%
• Partner Skill Level 3: 21%
• Partner Skill Level 4: 24%
• Partner Skill Level 5: 30%
Some exclusive passive skills are excluded, and the effect only applies to captured Pals rather than eggs. The target also needs available passive slots, so naturally fixed or randomly generated passives can interfere with the result.
This makes Yakumo extremely valuable when hunting for better combat Pals, workers, mounts, or breeding parents.
Take Yakumo back to your base and use breeding or the Pal Surgery Table to give it the passive skills you want to hunt for. You can create different specialized Yakumo for different jobs, such as:
• Combat passives
• Work Speed passives
• Mount speed and stamina passives
• Player-support passives
• Base-worker passives
Then place the correct Yakumo in your party, deploy it near the Pal you want, and capture that Pal for a chance of receiving matching passive skills.
Those newly captured Pals can then be used as breeding parents, allowing the matching passives to be inherited by future offspring.
Yakumo itself is a Neutral-element Pal with Gathering Level 2. It has balanced base combat stats, a mounted sprint speed of 1,080, and access to powerful Neutral attacks at higher levels. The Yakumo Saddle unlocks at Technology Level 41.
Yakumo will not guarantee perfect Pals on every capture, but it can dramatically reduce the amount of random hunting required when building a specialized breeding line.
Apparently the best way to improve genetics in Palworld is to bring along an angry cloud dog and hope it judges the other Pal’s résumé favorably.
