Here is where to find and capture Astegon in Palworld 1.0.
Astegon is now found as an Alpha boss inside Wildlife Sanctuary No. 2, the shield-covered island located directly north of the large volcanic island.
In this step-by-step guide, I show Wildlife Sanctuary No. 2 on the world map, provide the exact coordinates, demonstrate how to safely reach the island, and lead you directly to Astegon’s boss arena.
Be extremely careful while exploring the sanctuary. The island is protected by Level 80 security drones that project large red detection zones onto the ground. Enter one of these spotlights and the drone will immediately open fire.
Watch the patrol routes, stay outside the red light, and move toward Astegon’s location while the drones are facing away. A fast flying or swimming mount will make reaching the island much easier, but you will still need to avoid detection once you enter the shield dome.
Astegon is a massive Dark and Dragon-element Pal, so bring powerful equipment, strong combat Pals, healing supplies, a Ring of Mercy, and plenty of high-tier Pal Spheres before beginning the encounter.
After locating the boss, weaken Astegon carefully without defeating it. The Ring of Mercy is especially useful for reducing it to one health without accidentally losing your capture.
Once Astegon has been caught, I return to my base and provide a complete breakdown of its stats, active attacks, passive skills, work suitability, and Partner Skill.
Astegon has Level 7 Mining and Level 3 Handiwork, making it an exceptionally powerful dedicated mining Pal.
Its Partner Skill, Black Ankylosaur, allows Astegon to be ridden as a flying mount after you unlock and craft the Astegon Saddle. While mounted, it dramatically increases damage dealt to ore deposits and increases the amount of Ore gathered.
The Partner Skill will not function without the saddle, so make sure you unlock the Astegon Pal Gear from the Technology menu and craft it at a Pal Gear Workbench.
