Chiang Rai in Northern Thailand was definitely one of the highlights of my 3 1/2 week trip to Thailand. Chiang Rai features many stunning Buddhist temples, and I visited six of them. Many of them are truly architectural wonders. I visited Wat Huay Pla Kang (Goddess of Mercy), The White Temple (Wat Rung Khun), The Blue Temple (Wat Rong Surea Ten), Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), Wat Phra Singh, and Wat Mung Muang. Spectacular!
