One of the highlights of my 3 1/2 week trip to Thailand was visiting the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, perhaps the most famous floating market in the world. It's located about 62 miles (100 kilometers) southwest of Bangkok. The Damnoen Saduak Floating Market actually includes three smaller markets: Ton Khem, Hia Kui, and Khun Phitak.The market is very touristy, which means it can get very crowded in the canals, but to me it was a fascinating experience, as you can purchase clothes, handicrafts, souvenirs, and freshly cooked food without ever leaving your boat. In fact, I really enjoyed ordering my food from our small boat, watching the women cook the food in their small boat, then eating the tasty food (Pad Thai with Chicken) while still on the canal. To me, like the rest of our time here, it was quite an unique experience.
