Recently a small indie horror title has taken Steam and YouTube by storm in the form of Shift at Midnight. This game is designed with co-op in mind and you and your buddies will work the midnight shift at a local gas station.
You will have to survive 13 shifts in order to complete the game and each shift brings new and more tasks that you need to complete. The most important thing is that the town is being attacked by doppelgangers and you need to check every paying customer to see if they are a doppelganger or not.
You do this by doing various checks on the computer, questioning them about topics or using various gadgets to see if anything is out of the ordinary. It is a very cool concept and take on the anomaly gameplay and having to clear people which was popularized by games like Papers, Please!
There is a lot to do and I was surprised with how deep some of the mechanics go. It is perfect for co-op as there are always things to do for all players at any time. There is also combat involved if any doppelgangers slip through your fingers and all in all its a great horror game with friends.
There are a few things that could be improved like near the end when you get tokens if the wheel lands on a hat when all the hats are unlocked. This simply gives you the tokens back and stretching that section out rather than actually giving you a reward and moving on.
I also think the game can be a bit more forgiving with how much money you earn each night as you can very easily screw yourself over.
