Back in September, Chris and I went to this 14V in Homeworth. As you know, these Sentries (4 14Vs and a 3V8-H-B) replaced Knox's broken ACA Allertors back in 2019. I was lucky enough to catch the old Allertor here working back in October 2018. This 14V is running off a VFD just like the other ones in Knox Township; the VFDs are set to peak lower on purpose due to the high amp draw which caused electrical problems in nearby homes after they were initially installed. Like the one in North Georgetown, this one is reverse-wired, but was still very loud; I had to cover my ears for the majority of the test. Chris and I almost got a failure, as Knox forgot to test and I had to call the emergency number for the fire department to reach someone. When the woman answered she thanked me and said she forgot it was the first Saturday, and would set them off momentarily.
This 14V is located at the Homeworth Volunteer Fire Company in the unincorporated community of Homeworth. Knox Township tests their sirens on the First Saturday of the month at 1 pm, when they remember.
