Decided to drop this recorder at one of Cridersville's 2 SRN's after I got a tip from BNSF Bandit that these are tested weekly. I was extremely surprised to find that it was AC-only when I arrived, but it was. This one is pretty high pitched, which is pretty cool. It sounds like it may be running on a higher RPM for rotation speed but that could just be the sound bouncing off the two water towers located behind the siren. This siren is located at Tower Park in Cridersville. They have another SRN on the other side of town (likely also AC-only) and a Darley Model 5 at the fire station which is presumably inactive. Enjoy!
Cridersville and possibly all of Auglaize County (aside from Wapakoneta and St. Marys) test their sirens every Saturday at noon, year round.
