This unit was one of the units from Litchfield Township in Medina County, OH that were removed by Table Rock Alerting Systems and C&K in April of this year after the Township decommissioned their siren system in the summer of 2024. I had attempted to record this unit for the last siren test before the system was decommissioned, but the county cancelled the test that day due to severe weather. This unit, which was formerly located on Vandemark Road, was fully refurbished and reconditioned and will likely go back into service in a municipality in the future. At the time of decommissioning, it was the only 40V in the township still operating normally. While wired backwards (rotors spinning in the wrong direction) while in service, it was wired correctly for this demonstration. This siren I believe maxed out the generator at about 300 amps.
The famous Litchfield Circle 40V suffered a lightning strike that blew out the electrical service and controls, but the siren head remained intact; the Spieth Road water towers 40V also suffered a lightning strike but I am uncertain to what extent that unit was damaged. The single phase 15V was still operational at removal but has been taken apart for reconditioning.
