Location of this siren (Site #8): 3939 Stonebridge Road, Kettering, OH 45419
Apologies for the bad audio, I didn't have Vixia audio to dub in for this one because I accidentally wiped the SD card on my Canon before taking the wideshot off of it, oops. Decided to record this RM-127 on Monday because I wanted to hear another one, so I decided on this one on Stonebridge Rd. by Kettering Medical Center. This is probably the healthiest single phase RM-127 in Kettering's system. I also got an epic ambience from Oakwood's T-128 doing the usual minute of alert and Moraine's system of T-128's and 2001's after that (Moraine only does 30 seconds still for tests, which is why I didn't go there on Monday). Between alert and attack you can hear 2001-130's belonging to the county system that are located in Miami Township.
This was the last publicly accessible siren in Kettering's system that needed a recording, so I decided to jump at that chance while I could. I will definitely be back in the future to hopefully get a better video of this one as the lighting didn't turn out the best. Pardon me moving the tripod around; I was trying to remedy the lighting issue, oops. Nothing else to note except as usual, an engine from Kettering Fire-Rescue came by at the end to check the sirens’ operation and were probably glad to see somebody else there doing that, too. Even though Kettering has a two way CompuLert system that allows them to see siren operations on the computer, they still send the FD (who is in charge of the sirens) out to make sure everything works which is pretty cool.
Sirens in the Miami Valley (with exception to a few counties) are tested on the First Monday of every month at noon.
