Ever since we hosted the World Cup of parkrun Beauty on the With Me Now podcast I have wanted to visit the winner, Bere Island parkrun! In fact, this entire trip to tour around Irish parkruns was built around visiting Bere Island parkrun for my 40th birthday as a present to celebrate my new parkrun age category! It just so happened that it was Bere Island's birthday too... They're just a little younger than me and were celebrating their 9th journey around the sun.

With unbelievable luck then 4 wonderful parkrun friends from the UK were over too so we parked up on the driveway of their accommodation and joined them for a few wonderful days of companionship. I didn't realise how much I'd missed chatting to people I know!

We got the Bere Island Ferry from Castletown Bere over to Bere Island so we could experience the full parkrun experience and I can honestly say that every moment of this trip was truly magical! I hope you enjoy this video of my new favourite parkrun!

$Erddig parkrun (National Trust), Wales. Attempt to Run the Full Ponty but Pont y Bala was Cancelled. We set out to Wales to complete the Full Ponty challenge (Pontypool, Pontypridd, Pontefract and Pont y Bala). The weather had other ideas and in the end over 400 UK parkruns were cancelled due to ice. We were so lucky to find a parkrun that was on and we were super lucky that it was the beautiful Erddig parkrun. National Trust parkruns are always beautiful but Erddig parkrun was stunning. If tourists miss this parkrun to head over to Pont y Bala then theyre missing a treat! If youre in the area then the Grade I listed Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, World Heritage Site is a must visit. I was so happy to visit this incredible Wonder of the Waterways. Happy running and stay safe, Nicola :)$
