The first weekend in March I traveled to the Sacramento area to visit relatives. I dropped by the huge Union Pacific yards in Roseville and caught a couple hours of action as cars were shuffled about and a long freight with mid-train helpers headed for Donner Summit. The next day I visited the Amtrak depot in Rocklin and caught an eastbound manifest with DPU helpers on the tail end.
