On December 18, 2016, I ventured to Oak Meadow Park in Los Gatos, CA, to check out the Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad, something very different from my normal mainline rail fanning. Arriving about 45 minutes before the 11am opening time, I had a chance to record the crew getting ready for the day’s excursions. Number 5, their 18 inch gauge 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotive, was the scheduled power for the day. Unfortunately, the check run uncovered a problem that prevented them from using it. Fortunately, they broke out their diesel replica, which looks a bit like a GP40, and were able to offer rides for the public. Check out the BJWRR here: bjwrr.org
