Work and winter weather here in California have conspired to keep me away from the rails these past few months. In finally had a chance to get out a few of weeks ago and travel the 45 miles to Pinole and Hercules where I shot Amtrak Capitol Corridor and San Joaquin trains along San Pablo Bay.
Directions noted in the captions can be confusing. Capitol Corridor trains from Emeryville to Sacramento travel timetable east while the San Joaquin’s, moving in the same direction, travel timetable south between Emeryville and Bakersfield.
