On Memorial Day weekend in 2000, I traveled to Vancouver, Canada, for the Cariboo Steam Special sponsored by Trains Unlimited Tours. The three day trip was behind BC Rail No. 3716, a 2-8-0 steam locomotive, which hauled us from North Vancouver to Lillooet, British Columbia, on day 1. On day 2 we climbed the Frazer River Canyon from Lillooet to Kelly Lake, a distance of only 35 miles but a trip that took most of the day. Day 3 was the 156 mile return trip from Lillooet back to North Vancouver which, like the other two days, was filled with meets with other trains and stops for photo run-bys. The video is divided into three segments each containing one day of the trip. I hope you enjoy it.
