Hi again, zendra! Another longtime veteran of this game, though they haven't shown up much on this channel yet.
This game is a great example of how to win with an early 20 plant: don't buy it until you can power 5 cities with it, and stall at the bottom of the turn order. The other way is to have another plant or two that you can run instead of 20 during the stall, but i couldn't manage that here. This is the less common method, so i'm glad to have this one on here!
Meanwhile barmstrong was making a bunch of money with cheap green plants, but stuck at the top of the turn order. They eventually broke the stall but should've done it ASAP in my opinion; one of the things i've learned from players like Stein is that you virtually never want to stall at the top of the turn order! And zendra got the 21 pretty darned cheap considering how hard the market stalled after that...didn't want to risk giving Z the 26 at cost but it didn't come until right before Step 3!
One last interesting thing to note is how late i bought the 28, knowing Step 3 would come next turn. This was because i knew it would make me a great profit in just the 2 turns i would use it...heck, it actually made me a profit in the turn i bought it! That's what happens when you have nothing else you can run alongside the 20.
