A check-in on the Legacy metagame post-Fantasticar ban. At the top, we have Dimir Tempo and Azorius Tempo. These are both Bilbo, Thief in the Night decks from The Hobbit, but they also have Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student and Flow State. The card quality, but also quantity right now is through the roof, and in my opinion, this isn't going to last forever. One or two of these cards will eventually be banned, but in the meantime, these decks are on top of Legacy. And then underneath that we have Rakdos Reanimator that's been climbing ever since the Entomb ban. People have figured out that Faithless Looting is still a really powerful card, but you also have the full sideboard juke into a Show and Tell strategy that also plays Stronghold Gambit. It's really, really powerful right now. And then Death & Taxes, Boros Energy, Mardu Energy, and Eldrazi are all doing the same thing. They're beating the top of the metagame. They're really good against those Bilbo, Thief in the Night decks, which is why we're seeing these decks come to power. Sneak & Show is another large creature combo deck like Reanimator, but in my opinion, it's just a little bit worse. Reanimator does that thing much better than Sneak & Show. And then as we continue to scroll, we have Aluren. This deck, in my opinion, is a little bit underrepresented for how good it is. I think it's actually better than Sneak & Show, and probably about as good as the Rakdos Reanimator deck. And then we have the Colorless Blue Tron deck. I guess it's technically Blue, but it's mostly Colorless, and this is playing Giant's Boulder from The Hobbit. Once again, a really powerful deck coming back now due to a new card. And then, you know, we were getting to the bottom of the first page of Goldfish. We have Doomsday, Izzet Delver, These were decks on top of the previous metagame, but with the new come to power cards from The Hobbit like Giant's Boulder and Bilbo, Thief in the Night, they've fallen. That's my initial impression of this post-ban Legacy metagame world.
