The doctor is in, and *Legacy Doomsday* just got a new win condition out of Marvel Super Heroes Commander (MTG MSH)!
*Doctor Doom, Unrivaled* is a 4/4 life-linker for two Black and two generic mana. You tap it, draw a card, lose a life — and if your library has no cards left, you win the game. The key distinction is that this is an activated ability, not a triggered one. That means _Consign to Memory_ — which is seeing more and more main deck play right now — cannot stop it. _Thassa's Oracle_ loses to _Consign to Memory;_ Doctor Doom, Unrivaled does not. It also blanks _Disruptor Flute,_ which shows up across various Legacy decks. So the Doctor Doom split with _Thassa's Oracle_ is kind of just free hate coverage.
The Doomsday pile with Doctor Doom goes like this: _Consider_ mills _Doctor Doom, Unrivaled_ off the top, you draw into _Shallow Grave,_ reanimate it, tap, activate, win. You may need an _Edge of Autumn_ or _Street Wraith_ in the middle to hit the right card count, but it's very achievable. To make room, the second copy of _Thassa's Oracle_ came out — if you exile it to _Force of Will,_ the Doctor is still in. The fourth _Lotus Petal_ also got cut, reverting to the three-copy count that most *Doomsday* lists ran before _The Fantasticar_ pushed the count up.
This whole experiment is partly about future-proofing. _The Fantasticar_ is still legal, but if it ever gets banned, *Legacy Doomsday* needs a place to go — and Doctor Doom, Unrivaled fills a similar role to what Jace, Wielder of Mysteries used to do out of the sideboard: a win condition that doubles as hate coverage. Whether you're looking to beat _Consign to Memory,_ dodge _Disruptor Flute,_ or just try something new in *Legacy Doomsday,* this is worth experimenting with.
