What is a card that you thought was secretly going to be broken or overpowered but actually ended up being kind of bad? I'll go first. My choice is Spider-Punk. I thought that this card was going to be so broken in Storm combo across formats, and it ended up being a little underwhelming. Even before Hexing Squelcher came out, The EPIC Storm in Legacy had already cut this card. In my opinion, the only home for Spider-Punk is really in red EDH decks where you want both Hexing Squelcher and Spider-Punk, because this card being counterable itself just isn't quite good enough.
