Bryant Cook plays *Cycle Storm* in a Pauper League on Magic: The Gathering Online! _These matches were played on: 07/20/26_
*///// DECK DESCRIPTION /////*
Is a three-mana shapeshifter actually good in Pauper *Cycle Storm?* Today, we are testing a Paupergeddon top 8 decklist that features a Bloomburrow card _Barkform Harvester._
For those unfamiliar with the archetype, the goal of this deck is to cycle cheap creatures to fill the graveyard and then cast a massive _Songs of the Damned_ for a huge burst of mana. From there, we cast _Reaping the Graves_ to return all of our cyclers to our hand, cycle them all over again, and eventually win the game with _Drannith Stinger_ or _Drannith Healer_ triggers. With the printing of _Page, Loose Leaf,_ the deck has gotten much faster at drawing through the library to find the key pieces.
However, this decklist cuts a _Lotus Petal_ for _Barkform Harvester._ While the shapeshifter allows you to recycle cards from your graveyard to go infinite, it is a three-mana card that does not help you get off the ground. We discuss whether this card is a helpful floor-raiser for less experienced players or if it is just a crutch that covers up misplays. We also compare it to having _Blood Celebrant_ in the sideboard to see which option is optimal.
