Is anyone surprised to hear that police in New Iberia, Louisiana, are corrupt and incompetent? KULT News was warned about the police in New Iberia and the warnings were spot on.
We visited New Iberia, LA. on January 19, 2024 (with a side trip to New Orleans) and found numerous cops that were quick to violate our rights, falsely claiming it was against the law to stop and stand on a public right-of-way and they also claimed that local laws require all citizens to carry identification. Ridiculous.

Laws may vary but, generally speaking, in the United States, if you are in public you are legally able to photograph whatever you can see. Simply put, your eyes can’t be trespassed. Obviously there are some restrictions on this (i.e., bathrooms, dressing rooms, most courtrooms, locker rooms, etc.) but very few when you are in public. If you can see it, you can shoot it (this rule only applies to cameras.) This is not legal advice.
