We’ve all heard of the Streisand effect but how cool would it be to see it in action literally at Barbara Streisand’s house? And that is exactly what KULT News set out to find out.
Within seconds of photographing on the street outside if Babs’ Malibu mansion, her dunce of a security guard came out from behind the gate heckling us and claiming he called the cops.
Would responding officers recognize and respect our right to record in public or would they try to violate our rights because, you know, it’s Barbara Freakin’ Streisand’s house?

Laws may vary but, generally speaking, in the United States, if you are in public you are legally able to photograph whatever you can see. Simply put, your eyes can’t be trespassed. Obviously there are some restrictions on this (i.e., bathrooms, dressing rooms, most courtrooms, locker rooms, etc.) but very few when you are in public. If you can see it, you can shoot it (this rule only applies to cameras.) This is not legal advice.
