KULT News was in the Pacific Northwest in July, 2024, and we found numerous folks in Eugene and Harrisburg that seemed to have a problem with public photography.
Would they call the cops on us? If they do, will our rights be violated?

Laws may vary but, generally speaking, in the United States, if you are in public you are legally able to photograph whatever you can see. Simply put, your eyes can’t be trespassed. Obviously there are some restrictions on this (i.e., bathrooms, dressing rooms, most courtrooms, locker rooms, etc.) but very few when you are in public. If you can see it, you can shoot it (this rule only applies to cameras.) This is not legal advice.
