We've rented a motorcycle and we're taking a day trip south of Phnom Penh to Angkor Borei. This area comes up a lot when talking about the history of Cambodia. Many of the sculptures and artifacts in Cambodia's National Museum come from the Angkor Borei area. We're going to make the climb up the 150 steps of Phnom Da, the granite outcrop that's home to a 1000 year old temple called Phnom Da Temple. It's an awesome structure and the views from the top of the hill are outstanding, especially at this time of year. It's the wet season in Cambodia, which means we might get stuck in the rain, but it also means flooded farm fields as far as the eye can see. Many people try to avoid Cambodia's rainy season, but if you can dodge the heavy downpours, it's actually one of the most beautiful times to be in Cambodia.
