The Chaktomuk Walk Street is Phnom Penh's newest attraction. It is a weekend night market, where they shut down the street that runs along Phnom Penh's riverside promenade, allowing for 2 KM of pedestrian area. Booths line the street with street food, shopping, and more. A stage is setup, featuring some of Cambodia's best musical artists. Did I mention the street food. In the past, I would have said that Cambodia is not a great street food country, at least compared to many of their Southeast Asia neighbours, but the Chaktomuk Walk Street has changed this. It was packed with food from all over the world. Some of it was Cambodian street food, but they also had Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and even American food. I got some really delicious chicken wings, plus something that looked like an empanada filled with beef cheek. Oh, and there are plenty of booths setup serving beer, cocktails, and other tasty drinks. I'm telling you, this Walk Street is a game changer for Phnom Penh and Cambodia's street food scene. It's open on Saturday and Sunday from 6:00PM to 11:00PM on Sisowath Quay, the street that runs in front of the Royal Palace.
