Thanks for checking out this Magicka Warden PVE Build for Greymoor. This is mainly optimised for 12-man trials but can be adjusted to suit dungeon and solo playstyles too.
Magicka Warden is looking in a pretty great place. A few things regarding Pets have been fixed (they now inherit Bloodthirsty traits and the Spell penetration from the Concentration Passive).
Thanks, stileanima for providing the healing for one of the rotations (reasons explained in video intro).
Greymoor has brought us the Vampire Skill, which happens to be very good news for Magicka Classes. The one skill that Magicka DDs will be most interested in is Eviscerate and Morphs. Blood for Blood, the morph which costs Health, will be the spammable to use, whenever possible in 12-man trials, and does more damage, the lower the HP you are on. This will also be amazing for your sustain. The other morph Arterial Burst will do less damage and costs Magicka rather than HP, which is a little safer to use, especially when you have little healing on you. The toggle ability, Blood Frenzy, gives more Weapon and Spell Damage, but will not allow others to heal you. This is a high risk and high reward skill, and WILL NOT be used in these rotations.
Gear
There is not a lot of change from the previous patch, Harrowstorm. The only potential would be Roaring Opportunist, which looks to be the best set for giving major slayer to team members.
Shown here:
- Mother's Sorrow Body
- Siroria including Inferno Staff - Precise
- Zaan Monster Set
- vMA Inferno Staff - Infused (You can try a Berserker enchant or a Frost Enchant, they're both pretty close for Single Target, though the latter will help if you have other Warden's in the group for the Crit Damage Passive)
Alternative Gear (for all different setups):
- False God, Spell Strategist, New Moon Acolyte, Master Architect, Roaring Opportunist (not exhaustive)
- Monster Sets - see video - liko.gg/content/2841/liko-the-best-updated-monster-sets
Race:
- Altmer in video
- Dunmer, Breton, Khajiit all fine alternatives
Mundus:
- Shadow
Blue CPs:
- Elemental Expert 49, Elfborn 61, Spell Erosion 10
- Master-at-Arms 56, Staff Expert 19
- Thaumaturge 72, Piercing 3
Blue CPS in Raid: Do adjust based on your group's Spell Penetration Debuffs. Likely something close to the above is OK. You could also try 56 Elfborn and 15 Spell Erosion as another common alternative.
Food:
For Practice on Dummy: Ghastly Eye Bowl
In Raid: Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl (or Clockwork Citrus Fillet if you need more sustain)

Rotation
Magicka Warden posses probably one of strongest AOE DOTs in the game - Winter's Revenge. This, combined with Mystic Orb, Unstable Wall and Deep Fissure means that Magicka Warden has a huge amount of AOE Damage in its toolkit. So we want to be able to prioritize these abilities when possible. Deep Fissure may be cast as frequently as 1-in-3 skills, but DOTs, including Single Target DOTs such as Fetcher Infection, Degeneration and Barbed Trap can be prioritized first if they need reapplying. Blood for Blood (or Birds/Crushing Shock/Whatever else you prefer) can be cast in your spare time.
There is also an argument that can be made that in situations where there is not a lot of danger, and not a lot of healing is needed, then Blood For Blood can be prioritized over Deep Fissure. When you are below ~75% HP, Blood for Blood becomes stronger than Deep Fissure. This is more easily achieved when you are a STAGE 1 VAMPIRE, which is what I would generally recommend, as each Blood for Blood casts more HP at this level. This is a pretty fun unique mechanic which rewards risky play. Do so at the risk of annoying your team-mates though if you die!
Cast the Bear Ultimate as frequently as possible, only holding-off if you are close to execute (25% and below). Since the bear scales properly, it can hit for huge amounts (200k+ hits in full group situations). In execute, the rotation doesn't really change. In many shorter fights, you can more or less aim to only cast your DOTs if you will get full duration out of it, otherwise spam Blood for Blood, and Deep Fissure if you will get the hits.
Proposed Static Rotation:
Start with Barbed Trap,
Then Repeat:
Deep Fissure - Wall - Winter's Revenge -
Orb - Fetcher Infection - Degeneration
Deep Fissure - Spam - Spam
Deep Fissure - Spam - Spam
Spam = Blood for Blood in Melee (Bird/Crushing Shock for ranged)
Replace a Spam with Barbed Trap or Bear Ulti whenever needed

![Bipolar? - Stamina Warden PVE (87k+) - Greymoor - ESO
Edit 26th May - Updated for the Greymoor Patch. Not much has changed here!
Here are some Stamina Warden PVE builds and Iron Atronach Parses for the Greymoor/Harrowstorm / Dragonhold patch.
Ive uploaded a split-screen of both POVs from Kabs (left) and myself (right). I thought, why not, since I have the footage anyway. Let me know what you think of the style.
Thanks to @kabs12 for providing us with the parses. Kabs occasionally uploads videos on YouTube and streams on Twitch, so do check him out!

We are using the Max Stamina/Stamina Regen food, with 64 points into Stamina for all Stamina Setups in these rotations.
Gear used here:
5x Lokkestiiz, 5x Relequen, 2x Velidreth. (See build screenshot for full details).
The above is used simply for purposes of comparison against other classes, in this test environment.
Race used: Orc
Alternatives (none quite as good): Dunmer, Woodelf, Redguard, Khajiit
In real raid situations, consider Artaeum Takeaway Broth or Max HP Max Stam as food alternatives.
Other gear that is perfectly suitable for different situations/builds include:
Leviathan, Tzogvin, Advancing Yokeda, Maarselok

Rotation
The change to Cutting Dive is mentioned above, and is a big influencer in this rotation. Whenever the target is off-balanced, it is worth spamming birds over anything else, because then each cast of Cutting Dive is worth more than a cast of any DOT, and also Sub Assault.
Outside Off-balance periods, keep up DOTs and do so whilst casting Sub Assault 1-in-3 skills if you can. Poison Injection is the biggest priority to keep up if you are using the Master Bow. Either way, keep this skill up, along with Endless Hail/Arrow Barrage, Consuming Trap, Growing Swarm and Barbed Trap. If you wish to also add Rending Slashes to your setup, like how Kabs has done, then you can do so.
When you anticipate a period of Off-balance coming, best ensure DOTs are up. Perhaps its worth refreshing Endless Hail/Arrow Barrage and Poison Injection if theyre close to running out. As soon as Off-balance is up, just spam Cutting Dive. Afterwards, go back to rotation described above.
In the video, you can see that I keep track of Off-balance with the small UI add-on called Pentest, on the right hand side. When the number is red, this indicates an Off-balance immunity period. When green, then Off-balance is active. Off-balance timing is the same in both POVs. Off-balance is also indicated by the swirly circle above the enemys head, although admittedly hard to see and keep track of.
Proposed Static Rotation
Cast Netch and then Trap when you start a fight.
Repeat:
Arrow Barrage - Poison Injection
Sub - Swarm - Consuming Trap - Sub - Spam - Spam - Sub - Netch/Barbed Trap/Spam (cast Barbed Trap and Netch in alternative repeats of the rotation, or if your sustain is fine, use a spam instead).
Spam = Cutting Dive or Bear Ulti
The above static rotation is under the assumption you are doing a 10-second rotation with Arrow Barrage.
If you wish to use Endless Hail, with either the Masters Bow or Maelstrom Bow, you can more or less do the above, but also add 3 extra skills (Spam - Sub - Spam) to the end of the front bar rotation.

About alternative skills that were not used in this video:
Vigor / Ring of Preservation (back-barred) - for extra self-heals if needed. I would recommend replacing one of the back bar Fighters Guild abilities.
Whirling Blades - a spammable/execute that is very useful when a dual-wield AOE setup is desired
Camouflaged Hunter (front-barred) - gives weapon damage passives, and Minor Berserk for 5seconds when you attack from behind. Can be very nice in situations where you know you wont get Minor Berserk consistently.
Bird of Prey (front/double-barred) - similar to above, except gives animal companion passives, and Minor Berserk on the active bar. Can be very nice in situations where you know you wont get Minor Berserk consistently. You can also activate the skill for a period of Major Expedition.

![ESO - [Symbolic] - vAS HM - Stamblade Bow/Bow Practice - Wrathstone
This is a clip from Day 2 as a Bow user in vAS HM. I had fun trying out for Symbolic, thanks for having me. Karma and I are looking forward to leaving Hodor and joining the core team kappa.
I was at 64k/52k DPS when the last sphere came before the execute phase. Unfortunately, the Main Tank died at the beginning of execute so we didnt finish this attempt. This means I dont really have a clean parse to link, since the fight dragged on. It does show that this build certainly has potential to beat a Magblade.
Hopefully, if I do upload again, it will be a bit more polished, still a lot more to get right consistently. This is mainly an upload for the interest of others in Hodor so we can compare, but Im leaving it public so maybe others can find it useful too.
Some notes which helped me improve from Day 1:
This is a clip from when I was using Reapers Mark, so I was setting off a little earlier than usual to make the most of the Major Berserk. Still did 11-12k AOE damage, which is pretty reasonable considering.
Without Mark (since I was taking turns with Karma) I would use Crushing Weapon to attack spheres when they were below 50%, to guarantee that I do not waste Global Cooldowns from casting an empty Snipe. Although you dont see it consistently here, when a sphere was approaching I would cast Crushing instead of Snipe to prevent wasted GCDs.
Crushing Weapon was also really good to use if I needed mobility when I was in a hard spot such as when kiting storm, and when I had the defiling blast on me as youll see. The heal does 25% of the damage done, so it is a pretty strong self-heal.
Previously I didnt bother to recast Hail at all on Olms, but it also works to recast it when a sphere spawns under Olms. If not, then a poison injection just to keep up the Berserker Glyph.
I didnt try ballista over incap at all. Incap was great because it usually coincided with the source of Major Slayer received from the DDs next to me (thanks Random!). Lining my skills up with incap is something that I can do a lot better, but it was pretty bursty all the same despite some mis-timings.
My major courage uptime here was only 39%, entirely my fault as I was playing in a different position than I do normally, and with a lot of new things to learn, looking for Olorime took a backseat - oopsie!
