The Musou and Warrios games are a guilty pleasure of mine and I always love playing them to relax for a couple of hours. This is a prequel to the amazing Tears of the Kingdom and therefore I played this while making my recording for that game. Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment tells the story of princess Zelda as she is swept across time and space and partakes in the imprisonment war that was unleashed by Gannondorf.
People who played Tears of the Kingdom will know the story beats, but it was cool to see some characters receive more depth and lore and the gameplay was smooth as butter. It even felt like the first few hours were more story heavy as it felt almost like an RPG.
I loved that all the voice actors returned to represent their characters and it is such an amazing world to have any sort of game in. The familiar characters, the familiar worlds and even the familiar items and weapons gave me a smile from ear to ear.
I adore Tears of the Kingdom and love it way more than Breath of the Wild. I think this Hyrule Warriors compliments the game very well and is one of the better Musou games out there.
