It looks like we are getting a bunch of mascot horror games at the end of the year and the latest title is Night of the Extinct. The setup for this game is great as we are a online content streamer who sneaks into a museum late at night. I love the presentation of just how cheesy and cringe the main character is when he talks to the camera. The creator has really nailed how many YouTubers and streamers talk. I would have loved to see this more throughout the actual game. Like maybe that he would react or comment to things happening in the game. Or maybe a jumpscare when someone donates or subscribes etc. There are a lot of cool possibilities that I have not yet seen in a horror game before.
The art style is also great with it looking like a dreamworks animated movie.
The gameplay focuses mostly on puzzles where you have to place objects on pressure pads. They are fine, but do get a little old after a while. If we get a sequel, then I hope to see more variety in terms of gameplay and also see more of the content creation vibes which made me laugh a lot.
