We start out the new year with a nice, calm adventure that is considered a classic. Syberia was an adventure game from the mind of Belgian artist Benoît Sokal. We play as Kate Walker and follow her on an adventure as she tries to find Hans Voralberg. We start in a beautiful, little town that is filled with Automatons and we progress by solving various puzzles and talking to people.
The game has a somewhat somber, but also very calm atmosphere. It was the perfect game for me to play during the calm winter break and I thought that the vibe and atmosphere were so unique. The music is beautiful, the characters are interesting and some of the puzzles are quite clever. You can definitely tell that it is based on older adventure game's logic at times and the segment involving an astronaut was not that interesting, but other than that it was a great little snack during the cold winter days. I am now hooked and cannot wait to continue the journey with Kate in its many sequels.
