October is a very busy month for gamers as so many titles are being released. We just finished archiving Little Nightmares 3 and next up we have the singleplayer campaign of Battlefield 6. Campaigns of previous entries have always been a mixed bag and I am happy to say that this is the best campaign they have made in years. Though it is not perfect, it does offer missions in varied locations that are often presented on an epic scale.
Modern military FPS games often only showcase a campaign following a small squad and I have always loved the games where you partake in battles that involve hundreds or thousands of units. Battlefield 6 has plenty of those moments and they are incredibly epic. Especially the Gibraltar level starts out so cool with a mission that reminds me of the D-Day landings. Everywhere you look something is happening as explosions, bullets and bodies are flying all over the place. The sound design is also stellar as it gives you a hollywood blockbuster feeling in its presentation.
Now in terms of polish I do have to say it was lacking a bit since I had some issues with sound missing from cutscenes or team mates glitching out during certain story sections. I also think the game takes itself a bit too serious and had me roll my eyes a couple of times during some of its more cringe moments. But those moments are only brief and overall I think it is a decent campaign that is worth playing through at least once. It definitely is a step in the right direction with the epic scale in its presentation and hope that their next campaign will have more polish in the end.
