...This week's #toptipsontuesdays is an empty or broken lighter hack. If the flint is still in you've basically got a micro ferro rod & by removing the wind shield you'll be able to direct the sparks closer to your tinder.
.
...Flash tinder like thistle down, kapok, grass seed heads, cattail seed heads, dandelion seed heads & even lint scraped from cotton clothing will all readily catch the small sparks & as I mentioned most char can be ignited from this too.
.
...So empty lighters can still get the job done if you need to. They're only dead when the flint has gone.
