Kapal Outpost is probably the first major obstacle you'll run across. It's considerably more difficult to clear than the bonfires, but still not overly difficult. I'd recommend coming in from above and killing as many by stealth as possible. Then drop down and take out the remaining. Completing this entire location by stealth is very possible, and not all that difficult. Freeing the caged wolf definitely helps as well.
