Exit Fate is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. With 75 characters to recruit, a mixture of typical turn based combat and war battles, and an engaging story, the result is a very Suikoden-esque game.

The latest version of the game can always be found here:

With Daniel in the State Army, Erin now has a mission for him. Before we go find out what that is, there's a bunch of new characters we can add to our army.

Starting out, there's a woman in the building right next to the item shop. Her name is Francesca and she is recruitable, but there's a catch...she only cares about those with close ties to darkness. You're going to need a shadow element character in your team to recruit her.

Next though, there's a hut on the world map to the southeast of Matrech. Heading inside and you'll find a mage in the basement by the name of Myst. He's dabbling in necromancy with a smashing grade in failure.

Our next stop is back in Amen Corner, but on the way, the team talks to a bard in the Madrigal inn, Cid. He mentions that he left some music sheets at the inn in Blackwater. Since we're going to Mayfall, we can take a run over there to pick them up.

Just before arriving in Amen Corner, I do pick up one chest I missed in Mayfall Forest, a Black Ash (Shadowcast in item form), but that pales compared to what Ljusalf is wearing, a 3rd Stone Amulet dropped by a Wandering Mage around Matrech.

In Amen Corner, you'll find Joe standing just a little east of the item shop building. Before speaking to him, make sure Col's geared up.

Upon talking to him, he strikes up a conversation with Col. There's a guy by the name of Deke living in a locked up mansion. He wants to go in and, ahem, "explore" the place. When Col refuses, Joe pulls the guilt trip card out and the duo breaks in via a window.

For this very short dungeon, Joe is a party member. While his combat prowess isn't going to win him any awards, he brings one very important special skill to the table, Steal, letting him attempt to swipe an item from a target.

Only two enemies in this dungeon, Wood Soldiers & Surprise Boxes. Both have some attacks that sting if they connect, but otherwise have low health.

After saving your game, you just need to head south through several rooms, nothing too special. There's a room after exiting the save room that has the sole chest of this area inside. It has a pair of Surprise Boxes you'll have to swat aside for a copy of Neutralize.

Joe & Col's exploration of this mansion ends at an odd device of sorts. Joe attempts to get closer, but the voice of Deke booms, stopping him cold in his tracks. Given his portrait, it's not going to come as a surprise when he says he's got a brand new invention that he's gonna test on our duo.

That invention? An Iron Golem. Yeah no, I think it's time to turn tail and run like hell. Just need to return to the save point room and exit in the same way you came in.

After the escape, Joe doesn't want to stick around Amen Corner for obvious reasons so he joins Daniel's army for good.

After a timeskip, Joe's seen doing some stealing on some random Goblins. They have a rather nice helm to steal, the aptly named Goblin Helm. Has 2 defense and 1 weight, but also raises the wearer's strength by 1.

Next up, Mayfall. You'll want to head to the training grounds where that Stone Amulet chest was. Our wayward kitty cat makes a third appearance here. Talk to it and it runs off again.

In town, you'll want to enter that mercenary tavern in the southwest. All that Arn I picked up from grinding is about to go to a good cause. There's a random guy selling some Sea Spider Toxin for 500 which won't come into play until later.

The real money sinks are for those two mercs we met on our first visit, Outsider & Mike. Outsider costs a hefty 1500 to hire while Mike is a much more reasonable 400. Luckily, both will be permanently in your army once hired.

Mike is basically Ayara, but quicker and a bit more accurate. Not quite as bulky as her, but still quite able to sit up in the front row for physical spam. He even has an A rank relationship with Outsider.

As for Outsider, there's a very good reason it took so much to recruit him. Everyone else is around lv9-11. Outsider joins at a VERY high level of 18 and it shows with his crazy strength. Low accuracy though.

Outsider also has an A rank relationship with Mike and is our first shadow innate character, meaning we can recruit Francesca in Matrech. Go pick up the sheet music for Cid in Blackwater first though by visiting the inn.

The last two characters to join in this video are Cid at Madrigal and Francesca at Matrech. Neither one's really cut out for combat, but still will provide something the next time a war battle rolls around.

Next time, getting back on track with the story.
